Health experts, top government functionaries and foreign dignitaries will converge on the economic and financial capital of Nigeria on Thursday, February 27, 2014 to review the management of cerebral palsy in Nigeria.
A statement issued in Lagos by the founder of Benola: A Cerebral Palsy Initiative, Air Vice Marshal Femi Gbadebo (Rtd) said the public presentation of Cerebral Palsy in Nigeria: The Way Forward would take place at Peninsula Hotel and Towers, Providence Street, Lekki- Epe Expressway, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos.
“. The cerebral palsy roadmap will educate policy makers about the issue at stake. It will also identify the programmes, opportunities and activities needed to help individuals with cerebral palsy and other developmental disabilities to achieve their full potential. The roadmap will encourage policies and laws that provide adequate support, access to services and resources, and modifications to traditional systems so they can be used by individuals with physical or developmental challenges. It will also work to change upstream factors like laws, regulations, policies, and institutional practices, and standards that influence the personal health, environments and choices of millions of individuals”.
“The event expected to begin at 11:00am, will be attended by government officials, diplomats and business executives” the statement added.
