Urhobo leaders to Sheriff Oborevwori: No going back on Delta Speaker’s position
Prominent Urhobo leaders on Thursday described the Delta State House of Assembly Speaker, Mr Sheriff Oborevwori as a rudderless ship that was bound to sink.
“We have seen his best. And never in the history of Delta State House of Assembly had things been as bad as this” the leaders said.
They said stakeholders in Delta State had realised their mistake of making Sheriff Oborevwori speaker and they had now resolved to go for the Ethiope West lawmaker in June.
“His achievements as a speaker are nothing short of nil. His behaviour and leadership style wholly disqualifies him as the chairman of even a village meeting in Okpe kingdom “
Speaking in Asaba, the Delta State capital on their return from Abuja where they met the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), the leaders commended the Ethiope West lawmaker for holding the position of chairman, House Committee on Appropriation with singular grace, commitment and immense sense of purpose.
“She will restore hope back into the Delta State House of Assembly”
Chairman, Urhobo National Forum (UNF), Chief Matthew Odiete praised the Ethiope West lawmaker for deploying her awesome political machinery in support of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
“The lawmaker led the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ethiope West to a successful outing in the polls “
“We cannot afford to talk too much now. We are working instead. Now we are reaching out to elected members, meeting with interest groups and working out plans of effecting a change in the political leadership of the Delta State House of Assembly in June” Chief Matthew Odiete added.
