May Day: Workers Valuable Contributors To National Development, Says Omosehin

…Advocates Prompt Payment Of Gratuity, Pension
A chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) and House of Representatives aspirant for Okitipupa/Irele federal constituency, Hon. Bamidele Omosehin had described public workers as valuable contributors to national development.
He stated this on Friday while congratulating public workers in Ondo State on the celebration of worker’s day.
Omosehin, who is a prominent contender for the National Assembly seat in the federal constituency, stated that mostly workers’ efforts are not usually seen by the people, but their dedication to the implementation of government policies in all ministries, departments and agencies determine the success of such policies.
He described them as the bridge between the people and government because they are part of the people being led by political officeholders.
The renowned philanthropist enjoined government at all levels to place premium on the welfare of workers, saying they have a lot of dependants to cater for.
He advocated for immediate payment of gratuity and prompt payment of pensions to the workers when they retire.
“I want to congratulate all workers in Ondo State and Nigeria as a whole on their special day.
“It is noteworthy to say that workers are strong and valuable contributors to national development.
Although their efforts are not conspicuous and the public hardly know about their sacrifices, their dedication to the implementation of government policies from one administration to another contributed immensely to the success of such policies over the years.
“Somehow, they are the bridge between the people and the government because they are part of the people. They feel what the people feel.
“I want to implore government at all levels to place premium on the welfare of workers, particularly while preparing their annual budgets.
“They have a lot of dependants they cater for and their gratuity and pensions should not be delayed when they retire.”
